41C4220A Sears Craftsman Liftmaster Gear & Sprocket Assembly KitReviewsI was a bit worried when my garage door opener only made the whirr from the motor spinning but no action from my door moving. I removed the cover to investigate and found a gear had been reduced to white nylon powder and a circle on a shaft. I could move the door freely by hand on the track and was worried of what the greater problem was that caused the gear to disintegrate, but went with a rebuild kit as a a try, well the kit worked great and had clear instructions. I would recommend this kit for anyone with a destroyed nylon gear. I decided to replace the gears in my opener rather than replace the whole opener under the theory that it could be done more quickly and easily than a wholesale replacement. (My assumption was that a new opener probably would have new mounting points that would require removing and replacing all the rails and brackets.) I'm not 100% sure that's true, but I think it was easier. Removal and replacement of the gears probably took about 90 minutes once the GDO was sitting on my workbench. The instructions in part seem to read like you could do this with the opener still hanging from the ceiling. Maybe, but I don't think that's worth the effort. Two points to watch out for: 1) once you assemble the opener, don't bench test it--if you do it will cycle all the way to the limit switch and when you go to re-install it it won't work until you take the cover off, remove a clip and small worm gear, and manually move the limit switch back to mid-range. Not overly difficult but unnecessary if you just resist the urge to plug the opener in to see if it works. 2) Watch the orientation of the main drive shaft upon re-assembly. It functionally doesn't matter, but there's a plastic guard attaches to 3 points in the top of that drive shaft flange. If it's not oriented correctly, the guard won't sit over the chain. Personally the guard looks unnecessary so I decided I wasn't going to completely disassemble and re-assemble the GDO to fix that! Overall though, it's not too hard of a repair--there was only one piece that was a friction-fit bushing that was a little fussy to remove. Received the parts in just over a week and only took my husband an hour or so to install. The hardest part was trying to get the chain back on then making adjusts to get the door to open and close properly. Highly recommend reading the other reviews as I did to avoid any possible issues. Product as described, easy enough to install, I have my garage door working again. Shipped in a timely fashion, well packed, overall good transaction. These replacement parts are a must so there is not much to say othe that installing it is simple since it only takes like 20 minutes. I dont know why this part after a few months or a year or so you need to replace it. Depends on the use of the door/motor. This kit came complete. Average Rating:![]() |

Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote ControlReviewsVery easy to program to a 20 year old garage door opener by using dip switches. Also easliy programmed to operate a new opener. I did both by following the excellent instructions included with the unit. pros: compact, sturdy design, positive button feel, bright LED light, operates two different garage doors so it replaces two clickers. cons: weak power, shorter range than the stock clicker it was replacing, has to be held outside an open window for it to work. Bought this and followed the programming instructions, several times. Everything seemed to work until I tested it. I called customer service. The automated system stepped me through setup again, but it still didn't work. I was then given the option of speaking to a live person, but after a seeming lifetime on hold I gave up. Customer service, with no estimated wait time and perpetual hold is not acceptable. I wasted a couple hours of my life on this and ultimately returned it for a refund. The home I bought was eqipped with a Chamberlain garage door opener but no remote opener was supplied with it. The Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control worked like a charm; it took me longer to first read the instructions than the actual installation took. this remote works great it does everything that was described on the internet programming was so easy quick shipment too !!!! Thank You..AMAZON Average Rating:![]() |

Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Gear Kit - Part #41A2817ReviewsThis was exactly what I needed to repair my Chamberlain garage door (model 550). It does take a couple hours to fix and make sure you have the tools required. Working like a charm today! Great product - saved me a ton of money. Easy fix - try this yourself! The main drive gear wore out in my Liftmaster after 10 years of daily use. I used most of the parts that came with this kit. Everything fit perfectly and my garage door opener is like new now. The instructions that came with it were a little off. Some steps were missing from the instructions, but with a little time spent staring at the inner workings of the garage door opener, and looking at the pictures on the instructions, I was able to figure it out easy enough. The job took me about 4 hours. There are a lot of screws and other little parts to keep track of. I fastened a strip of duct tape sticky side up on my work bench and stuck all the little parts on it and labeled them. I also used masking tape to label some of the wires that had to be disconnected. This made reassembly very easy. I would have gave 5 stars if the instructions were better. Thought I was going to have to buy a new opener. If your Sears opener is over ten years old and is not working properly you should buy this kit. Like others who have reviewed this kit on Amazon, I had problems because I don't have a workbench, a vise, or the correct size punch. I bought a punch for a couple of bucks, improvised a workbench with a block of wood, and substituted vise-grip pliers for the vise. I had all the other necessary sockets and wrenches. Once I was past these problems, interpreting the directions raised it's head. It seems the kit will work with multiple models of openers, so they threw-in parts for all of them. The result is that when you're finished, you have new parts left over - - - I think! In the end, it worked. But it wasn't easy. Average Rating:![]() |

Liftmaster 371LM 315MHz Garage Door Remote TransmitterReviewsPerfect remote for my Chamberlain garage door opener. Easy to program using the purple learn button. Simple one button remote is preferred over the original 3-button control that came with the unit. Seller shipped it quick! Fantastic product. Arrived in a great condition (actually was surprised to see the amount of packaging for such a small device) and worked like a charm from the word go. I recommend this product We needed extra remotes for a small office garage opener. These were great! Right what we were looking for. For the price, they are just the original brand thing. It's been 4 months now and not one has failed, they are used daily, sometimes several times a day. Nothing fancy, nothing cheap. Just what you see, one button to open one garage. This door opener met our expectations. Would recommend it to anyone needing a replacement. I needed an additional garage door opener as my old car had one built in and my new car doesn't. I didn't want all the hoopla of the original three button remote. This one was easy to get working and is the perfect solution (one button). Average Rating:![]() |
